Process Safety Relating to Thermal and Pressure Risks
The research objectives:
The main objective of the researches is to analyze the crucial points that lead to failures in the process industry and more specifically the petrochemical and chemical industry; And as well to make solutions of accidents drifts.
To diagnose the industrial system by using analytical and numerical methods, such as : AMDEC, HAZOP, HAZID, APR, Failure Tree (FTA), Event tree , Bow ties, MADS MOZART, and resilience engineering, Bayesian networks , Markov chains, Petri networks ; ......... ..
Studies will be conducted on hazardous industrial equipment, such as: storage containers, pressure equipments, reactors, flares, columns, etc.
The team research axis :
The following topics will be developed:
1. Definition of scenario accidents.
2. Selection of critical equipment for risk quantification.
3. Definition of safety barriers from experience feedback.
4. Modeling of dangerous physicochemical phenomena from mathematical models.
5. Definition of calculated risk distances (deterministic approach)
6. Thermal analysis for the characterization of decomposition profiles - determination of the risk of explosion and reaction runaway
