The team is developing a research program that focuses on the following main areas:

Development of biodegradable composites (multiphasic materials) that are receiving increasing attention,  and in some cases offer very advantageous technological, economic and environmental properties.

The development of new adsorbent materials from natural resources  whose main interest is biodegradability, the recovery of biomass and respect for the environment and finally, the development of recycling techniques and recovery of waste for sustainable protection of the environment. The last two areas will focus on the problems encountered by the industry in terms of pollution (liquid, solid and gaseous discharges) with the application of pollution risk analysis tools for the identification of contaminated sites and pollutants.

The research themes developed by the team:

1. Enhancement of natural resources for the environment

 2. New adsorbent materials: development, characterization and environmental applications

 3. Development and characterization of composite and nano-composite materials

  4. Treatment of industrial discharges: elimination of heavy metals and organic compounds by physicochemical processes.

  5. Recycling and recovery of by-products and industrial waste for sustainable environmental protection
